Dear Parents,

European Philosophy of Schools, having taken into account the peculiarities of the season and always with special attention and care for each child, will launch the summer camp again this year.

Based on the program, the morning arrival at school should be by 09:00 am, so that excursions to the sea take place during early hours considered to be safer for children to be exposed in the sun.

The beach to be visited is always chosen according to the safety of the water, the distance from school, the provision of services e.g., toilets, changing clothes areas, beach umbrellas and the suitability of the beach for sand play.

Cultural activities and out-of-school excursions follow similar criteria: interests of children, accessibility, pleasant time and the possibility to play.

Brunch and lunch will be based on the criteria of a healthy diet.

The program of the Summer Camp

During the five-day summer camp program, there will be:

a) three days spent in an organized sandy area in Anavyssos, where there are sunbeds with umbrellas, showers, a beach volleyball court, a beach soccer court, changing clothes rooms, toilets and there are many opportunities for enjoying a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

b) two days will be spent on educational trips with knowledge and adventure opportunities.

Children will be accompanied by a physical education teacher who holds a lifeguard diploma.

During the visits to the sea, children will have the opportunity to spend days of adventure and discovery.

Camp’s recreational activities also include chess, board games and cinema time.

All the above sports and activities are carried out by specialized physical education teachers.

Our Staff

Our staff consists of qualified instructors, pedagogues, specialized educators and school coaches. All of them have a background with extensive experience in children’s camps and sports activities. They will offer opportunities and will broaden the horizons of our students.

Five-day Programme Summer Camp

Every Monday – Wednesday – Friday a trip to the sea for all seasons

07:00 – 08:30: Pick up by school buses from your location

08:45 – 09:30: Sports activities (Football, Basketball, Educational games) on the school grounds

09:45 – 13:00: Swimming, water familiarization exercises, basic technical exercises of freestyle and backstroke, polo, water games, beach volleyball, beach soccer, and sand construction.

14:30 – 15:30: Creative recreational activities or return home with the school buses

The 7th and 8th sessions will take place depending on the weather conditions in a sports centre pool or at the sea.

Every Tuesday & Thursday for all periods there will be two adventure and knowledge trips.

07.00 – 08.30: Pick up by school buses from your venue

08.45 – 14.00: Exploration and knowledge activity.

Indicative activities:

Environmental excursion to Parnitha and/or Lake Beletsi with the program (Hiking, Tracking Orientation, Aerial Passage, Tree climbing, Animal tracking, Archery, Mountain biking)

Visit the Acropolis Museum, the Nightingale Amusement Park, a cave in the Prefecture of Attica, a farm and acquaintance with agricultural activities, an equestrian club, a water park

Activity paintball, speed ball

Activities at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, at the Galatsiou Park

14.00 – 14.30: Lunch

14:30 – 15:30: Creative recreational activities or return home with the school buses.

The participation fee for each period is: 340,00€

Why join the Summer Camp at European Philosophy of Schools?

Every summer, the Summer Camp operates having a dual purpose:

The daily program enhances the social and emotional development of each child within the group and supports opportunities to play at the sea, in the mountains, on the playground or visit museums and other cultural sites. At the end of each week, there is a group and individual evaluation by the children. This results in a collage of drawings, moments, children’s memories and photographs.

Children who are about to attend our School the following year can participate for a week in the Summer Camp, thus having the opportunity to get to know their classmates, teachers, areas and processes of our School. Thus, classes in September will run for them more smoothly, feeling comfort and the expectation of making new friends.

Each week, parents receive feedback for the completed week, including evaluation and photos taken by the group teachers in each activity.

The daily programme includes the social and emotional development of each child in the context of the group and the opportunity to play in the sea, on the mountain, in the playground or visit museums and other cultural sites.

At the end of each week, there is a group and individual evaluation by the children. In the evaluation, the children vote for the activities they have done according to the criteria:

This results in a collage of drawings, objects, children’s texts and photos.

Each week parents receive an update on the week that has passed, with the evaluation and photos taken by the group in each activity.

Children who are about to start the following year at the School can participate for a week in the Summer Camp, thus giving them the opportunity to get to know their classmates, teachers, and the School’s spaces – procedures.

Thus they come to the School in September with greater comfort and expectation of finding their new friends.

The leader of each level waits for the day to start with the report card and the discussion with the children (new children in the group become members with pedagogical activities to get to know each other).

Always at the beginning, the program of the day is mentioned and all children discuss the safety rules and how the camp works e.g.

In-school activities

In each classroom, there is a group of children with a responsible teacher, materials and the possibility to use the interactive whiteboard alongside other areas of our school.

The areas are suitably equipped for the activities e.g. painting, clay, collage, drama games, film watching, music, sports, movement games, fencing, taekwondo, jumping, throwing, archery etc.

Activities outside school

In addition to the grade-level leaders, there is a teacher in charge of each group with additional help from other teachers.

There are 4 young children (kindergarten – first grade) or 8 older children per teacher.

The children learn from the first day the importance of safety and self-protection, essential conditions for a creative and happy day at summer school.

The menu of the summer camp

We take care of the preparation of healthy meals for the children twice a day.

All hygiene rules are strict and absolutely applied by our School. So, brunch or lunch is offered individually packaged.

συμπλήρωση φόρμας για τη χρήση των ευαίσθητων προσωπικών δεδομένων σχετικά με φωτογραφίες που η ομάδα θα βγάλει κατά τη διάρκεια των δραστηριοτήτων
ενημέρωση για πιθανές αλλεργίες, άλλες ιδιαιτερότητες και στοιχεία απαραίτητα για την υγεία του παιδιού προκειμένου να υπάρχει η κατάλληλη φροντίδα από το Σχολέιο προς το παιδί.
